Summary: The description, specs, photo, pricing and user ratings for the Beretta M9A3 pistol.

Manufacturer’s Description

The Beretta M9A3 is a semiauto pistol built on an aluminum alloy frame and chambered in 9mm. It’s a descendant of Beretta’s 92FS pistol, called the M9 by the U.S. military.

Like those pistols, the M9A3 operates on a short recoil, delayed blowback system. These double-action/single-action pistols come with high-capacity steel magazines designed to drop-free when the magazine button is depressed, even when empty. Beretta says the M9A3 mags are sand resistant due to a PVD coating designed to reduce friction and a tube designed to reduce the possibility of sand accumulation within the round column.

Other new features include:

  • A Vertek-style verticle grip with front- and back-strap checkering;
  • thin, flat grip panels, plus a removable wraparound grip that replicates the original M9’s grip feel;
  • a three-slot picatinny rail;
  • an oversized magazine release button;
  • a beveled magazine well;
  • dovetailed, tritium night sights; and
  • a flat dark earth finish.

And like other 92-series pistols, the M9A3 features:

  • An open slide design;
  • a disassembly latch;
  • a visible automatic firing pin block;
  • an external hammer;
  • a combat trigger guard;
  • a reversible magazine release;
  • an ambidextrous safety.

The standard M9A3 model features a safety/decocker lever on the slide, but the M9A3-G model offers a decocker-only. Beretta also offers standard and threaded barrels.
