Handgun Roundup: the .380 Pocketguns

By - Last updated: Tuesday, August 20, 2013 - Save & Share - 9 Comments

pocketgunlineart2In recent years, pocketguns have surged in popularity. Numerous manufacturers now offer tiny handguns you can literally fit into a pocket, in a wide variety of calibers, actions, finishes, etc.

This article pulls info for all semiauto .380 ACP pocketguns into one place. To make the cut, each pistol had to measure no more than 5.6″ long and 4″ tall.

I came up with 32 guns by 19 manufacturers. Each pistol’s listing (below) is an excerpt from its main info page, which contains the gun’s full description, specs, pricing info and, when available, more photos, user ratings and user comments. To go to that page, simply click on the gun’s name, which is in blue-colored text.

I’ve organized these pistols alphabetically by manufacturer. If I’ve failed to include a model, please let me know via the Contact form at this link, or via the Comment form at the bottom of this article.

This spreadsheet lists every pocket .380 and its specs, MSRP and ratings.

I’ve also included a link to a spreadsheet that lists all the guns and their specs, MSRP and ratings (to see it, click the image to the right). It’s currently sorted by Users Ratings. I will periodically update the ratings and number-of-votes columns as more votes come in.

Considering the Sig P238 and Kimber MicroCarry are carbon copies of the Colt Mustang, which is now back in production, it might be good to list them all.

(The Mustang itself is a copy of an old Astra (?) .380, but that one is long out of production.)

Holy cow, how did I leave the Colt Mustang out? Thanks for the heads-up, Matthew! It’s in there now.

I’ve added two guns to this roundup: the Colt .380 Mustang XSP, a polymer-framed version of the original .380 Mustang (with other new features as well); and the S&W M&P Bodyguard 380, a non-lasered (and much cheaper) version of the original Bodyguard 380.

What about the Bersa .380 thunder & DLX. I find these to be a well mfg. firearm and to have
features that the famous Walther PPK does not have. This is also an excellent concealed
    carry piece.

Hi Joseph. The Bersa(s) didn’t make it into this pocketgun roundup because at 6+ inches x 4+ inches, they’re a little too big for pocket carry as I defined it (5.6″x4″ max). They do indeed seem to be pretty good guns, though; according to user and editor ratings, they’re at least above average.
