Summary: The description, specs, photo, pricing and user ratings for the Browning 1911-22 pistol.
Manufacturer’s Description
Browning has developed a scaled-down .22 LR version of its original 1911 pistol. The company says the new 1911-22 is almost an exact replica or the original, just smaller. (The full-size model measures 85% of the size of the original 1911.)
The frame and slide are machined from aluminum alloy with a matte blued finish. The barrel has a stainless steel barrel block and target crown. The 1911-22 has a single action trigger and a straight blow-back action. Other features include fixed sights, a detachable 10-round magazine, a manual thumb safety and a grip safety. All controls operate just as those on the original John M. Browning-designed model 1911.
Browning offers two models. The A1 (full-size) version features a 4.25″ barrel and a 5.5” sight radius, and weighs 15.5 oz. A compact version sports a 3.625″ barrel with 4.825″ sight radius. Grips on both models are brown composite.
The 1911-22 is made in the USA. Guns shipped in 2011 will include a special first year of production collector’s certificate plus a free, limited edition commemorative canvas and leather zippered pistol case. Shipments are expected to start in the first quarter of 2011.

Works flawlessly, but the light weight makes it harder to stay on target.
