I have the 1911U, which I didn’t find listed as a choice. I knew beforehand, from writing to them, that the dovetails don’t match standard Colt 1911 sight dovetails, so I’m hoping Magnum Research comes out with a Trijicon or Meprolight tritium/dayglo front sight for this gun. Note also that the magazines have an unusually with opening at the top/throat, so even though other brands like Act-Mag look nice and generally work, esp. if loaded with 6 instead of 7, for personal defense I would stick with Magnum Research’s utilitarian-looking ones – they are available through the company’s website.Hopefully they will develop a 7-rounder with a bit larger butt pad, for full purchase on the grip.
My gunsmith was impressed by the fit and finish of the gun and had nothing to recommend – Usually I go for a fluff-and-buff. A good-looking gun. If Hogue develops a green laser grip for it, I’ll ignore the front-strap stippling to get the bright green light. Comfy to carry.
