Ruger‘s SR1911 Lightweight Commander is a 1911-style semiauto pistol built on a black or gray anodized aluminum frame with a stainless steel slide, and chambered in .45 ACP or 9mm. Other features include:
- A classic, Series 70 design;
- a polished titanium feed ramp designed to limit wear;
- an oversized ejection port;
- an extended magazine release;
- either thin hardwood grips or black rubberized grips;
- a checkered backstrap;
- front strap serrations;
- an aluminum, skeletonized trigger with an adjustable over-travel stop;
- a skeletonized hammer;
- dovetailed three-dot sights with a Novak LoMount Carry adjustable rear sight;
- an oversized beavertail grip safety;
- an extended thumb safety and slide stop;
- an integral plunger tube (not staked);
- a standard recoil guide system;
- a flat mainspring housing;
- a visual inspection port so you can check its load status;
- a low-glare stainless finish on the slide;
- rear slide serrations (either straight or v-shaped);
- a titanium firing pin;
- a swaged link pin;
- two stainless steel magazines;
- a bushing wrench; and
- a soft case.
