Manufacturer’s Description

The SIG Sauer P556 SWAT is a semiauto pistol built on a steel receiver and chambered in 5.56mm. Other features include:

  •  A 10″ button rifled barrel with a twist rate of 1 in 7″;

  • an A2-type flash suppressor with a standard .5 x 28 TPI thread pattern to ensure compatibility with aftermarket accessories;
  • an optional flip-up front combat sight adjustable for windage;
  • an optional flip-up rear sight adjustable for elevation;
  • a Nitron finish on the receiver;
  • a top picatinny rail with a SIG Sauer Mini Red Dot sight that works in concert with the optional front combat sight;
  • an aircraft aluminum quad-rail designed for mounting accessories;
  • a trigger housing machined from an aircraft grade aluminum alloy forging with a hard-coat anodized finish;
  • a two-stage trigger;
  • an ambidextrous safety; and
  • one 30-round magazine or a state-compliant 10-round magazine. (Note: The P556 is compatible with M16/AR-15 type magazines.)
