Manufacturer’s Description

Smith & Wesson‘s Model 460XVR is a five-round revolver chambered in .460 SW Magnum and built on a stainless steel frame with a stainless steel cylinder. This single/double-action pistol comes with a 8.375″, 10.5″, 12″, 14″ or 3.5″ barrel.

The 8″ 460 XVR.

The 8.375″ version sports a satin stainless finish, a synthetic grip, a HI-VIZ interchangeable front sight, and an adjustable white-outline rear sight. Additional features for this pistol include an internal lock, two removable, interchangeable compensators, a gain twist rifled barrel, and the ability to fire .45 LC and .454 Casull rounds as well.

The 10.5″ version sports a satin stainless finish, a synthetic grip, an interchangeable front sight, and an adjustable rear sight. Additional features on this pistol include an internal lock, a Lothar-Walther custom German rifle barrel, a 360-degree recoil compensator, polished button rifling, a precise barrel/cylinder gap-tuned Performance Center action, an integral Weaver base for optics mounting, a flashed chromed forged hammer and trigger for smoothness, crispness and durability, a traditional pinned sear, and multi-caliber capability (i.e., .454 Casull and .45 LC). A Performance Center gun rug and shoulder sling is included.

The 12″ version sports a matte finish, a synthetic grip, a removable patridge front sight, and an adjustable rear sight. Additional features on this pistol include a fluted barrel sling, an integral Picatinny style base top and bottom, a forged hammer and trigger, a traditional pinned sear, and an internal lock.

In 2011, S&W introduced a 460XVR with a 14″ fluted barrel, a recoil compensator, a bipod and a PC gun rug.

Finally, the 2014, 3.5″ version sports an unfluted cylinder, a chrome teardrop hammer, a chrome trigger with a stop and a Performance Center-tuned action.
