Manufacturer’s Description

Smith & Wesson‘s (S&W) Model 640 is a five-round, double-action-only revolver chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P, and built on a stainless steel frame with a stainless steel cylinder. Other standard features include:

  • A satin stainless finish;
  • an internal hammer;

  • a synthetic grip;
  • a black blade front sight; and
  • a fixed rear sight.

Note: S&W also offers a Pro Series version of the Model 640 designed to bring competition specs to the standard model. Its features include:

  • A fluted barrel;
  • a cylinder cut for moon clips;
  • a dovetailed, tritium front night sight; and
  • a dovetailed, tritium rear night sight.
