Manufacturer’s Description
Smith & Wesson‘s (S&W) Model 640 is a five-round, double-action-only revolver chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P, and built on a stainless steel frame with a stainless steel cylinder. Other standard features include:
- A satin stainless finish;
- an internal hammer;
- a synthetic grip;
- a black blade front sight; and
- a fixed rear sight.
Note: S&W also offers a Pro Series version of the Model 640 designed to bring competition specs to the standard model. Its features include:
- A fluted barrel;
- a cylinder cut for moon clips;
- a dovetailed, tritium front night sight; and
- a dovetailed, tritium rear night sight.
