Springfield Armory‘s XD Mod.2 Tactical is a full-size, semiauto, striker-fired pistol built on a black polymer frame with a forged carbon steel slide, and chambered in 9mm or .45 ACP. Other features include:
- A loaded chamber view port;
- a striker status indicator;
- a grip safety;
- an accessory rail;
- Springfield’s Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) trigger system;
- an ambidextrous magazine release;
- a 5″ hammer-forged carbon steel barrel;
- a one-piece, full-length guide rod;
- no-tool disassembly;
- a slim, contoured frame;
- a slim slide;
- a slim, contoured disassembly lever;
- a high-hand beavertail;
- a high-hand relief cut behind the trigger guard;
- fore and aft grip serrations on the slide;
- a three-zone grip texturing pattern with moderate texturing on the frontstrap and backstrap, aggressive texturing on the grip’s corners and light texturing on the grip’s sides (and the rest of the frame);
- a fiber-optic front sight dovetailed into the slide;
- a low-profile notch rear sight with two white dots dovetailed into the slide;
- a black melonite finish; and
- two stainless steel magazines.
