Summary: The description, specs, photos, pricing and user ratings of the Taurus 101 pistols.

Manufacturer’s Description

In 1980, Taurus purchased the Beretta factory in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and soon began producing pistols based on the Beretta 92 design. The Taurus 101 is based on the Taurus 92 and therefore includes the same features, including a drop hammer and a forged ordnance-grade alloy frame designed to prevent cracking or allowing the slide to come off. The 100 is chambered in .40 SW.

Other features include:

  • A three-position, frame-mounted ambidextrous safety, which is more secure than a slide mounted safety and allows for a classic single-action cocked-and-locked mode, as well as functioning as a DA decocking lever.
  • adjustable sights;
  • a picatinny rail;
  • checkered rubber grips;
  • a loaded chamber indicator; and
  • two blue steel high-capacity magazines.

Available finishes include blue and stainless steel.
